A digital twin is a virtual representation of a physical system. A battery powered system comprises of many individual cells which are series and parallel connected to obtain the required terminal voltage and power for a given application. Each individual cell might have a virtual representation and would interact with the other systems in hiterto unknown ways.
The goal here is to build a Digital Twin network which will comprise of several twins collaborating in a network. Literature refers to this approach as a Digital Twin Network. The twins are listed below. The advantage of this approach is also that we can modularize the development and then link them together. This project is a joint work with Microsoft Research India.
• Model for battery chemistry
• Model for battery bank – Battery Cascading and Cascoding
• Model for Battery bank charging
• Model for Battery discharge – 1C, 2C etc
• Model for the load on the battery – Inductive, Capacitive and Resistive
