200-megapixel camera systems are ready for integration into mobile phones. Together with this are the availability of hardware and tools for editing and image manipulation. Fine-grained image morphing is easily possible and can be used for several fraudulent activities. The idea of this project is to generate a unique signature for the camera device to provide forensic evidence that the image was indeed captured by that camera device. In this project, we will construct an image sensor from commercially available components and extract hardware signatures from the device and thus generate a Physically Unclonable Function (PUFs).
