Jansen mechanism based exoskeleton

A device that is used to aid or assist in providing skeletal support for bearing load and aiding motion is called an exoskeleton. There are several exoskeleton apparatus that have been developed and reported in the literature. This project proposes to leverage the Jansen’s linkages and apply it for the purpose of exoskeleton. This mechansim gives a truly organic motion that is propelled by a single driven pivot.
The development of the mechanism along with the motor drive for a single leg would be the building block for a system of exoskeletons which have largely organic movements. The project would involve study of the mechanism, design and development of the mechanism, design of the actuator and design and development of an intelligent drive system.
