DESE is facilitating Prime Minister Research Fellows (PMRFs) in teaching engineering undergraduate and post-graduate students in the online mode.
PMRF is a programme of the Government of India, details of which can be found at https://dec2020.pmrf.in/. Under this programme, selected PhD scholars at IISc, recognized with the PMRF based on their academic and research performance. There is a requirement that they should also teach outside their institution. See the excerpt from the PMRF website.
Any student can enroll in this online programme and benefit from it. Young students sometimes prefer to interact with their seniors to clarify some concepts rather than ask faculty instructors. Furthermore, PMRF students could be role models for engineering college students. There is inherent mentoring that happens when students teach other students.
Please also note that this programme is free. Neither your college nor the student need to pay. It is just that DESE is facilitating a requirement set forth by the PMRF committee to augment teaching.
