Securing a WiFi network against the Wi-Peep attack

Recently, the Wi-Peep attack has been suggested in the literature [1]. The attack aims to localize user WiFi devices in a foreign network very quickly, unobtrusively and without knowing any network credentials. The attack exploits some characteristics of the WiFi protocol to achieve its goals. We propose to study the attack in detail and develop mechanisms to defend against it. The work will involve in-depth understanding of the 802.11 protocol, experimentation with WiFi systems and defence mechanism design.
